Ranveer Singh is currently riding on the success of his last release Simmba. Directed by Rohit Shetty and also starring Sara Ali Khan, the film crossed Rs 350 crores collection at the world wide box office. Along with Simmba, Ranveer’s Padmaavat also proved as one of the blockbusters of 2018. In Padmaavat, he played a negative role of Alauddin Khilji, he essayed the role of a cop in Simmba. The actor received a lot of praises for his performances in both the films. The actor made his debut in 2010 and has given some amazing performances till now. However, long ago, there were rumours that his father paid Rs 10 lakhs to Aditya Chopra to launch him. While talking to India Today, the actor said that he was hurt when these rumours made headlines. Ranveer Singh said, “There were rumours that my father gave Rs 10 lakh to Aditya Chopra to get me launched. That really hurt me, it brought my whole upbringing into question. How can you write something so false that I had never said? I had genuinely struggled and proud of what I achieved. ”
He added, “Young actors will message me and ask, “Yo bro, I can cough up the money, tell me what I have to do.” And I have to say that these rumours are not true, stop believing that!” Currently, the actor is all geared up for his upcoming release Gully Boy. He plays the role of a rapper in this Zoya Akhtar directorial. Gully Boy also stars Alia Bhatt and is slated to release on February 14, 2019.
